My wranglers just don't cut it anymore I want some pants for cooler wetter weather. not extreme weather just normal late fall hunting .

I don't care what brand as long as they're good, whatever works. waterproof or highly water resistant and windproof would be great. I've been looking at the Badlands Hybrid pants but I can't find if they're water resistant or not. judging from my Sitka 90% jacket I'm sure the 90% pants aren't resistant at all.

Kuiu Guide pants worked great for me in the fall last season. They are very water resistant, and the most comfortable pants I have ever worn in the field.

I'll check those out, but they're not lined with anything at all are they?

I'll second the Guide Pants.

In September and early October, I will wear the KUIU Attack pants with the Guide Pants over them before the sun goes up and after it goes down. First Lite makes some fine stuff, too.

Checkout the Core4Element Element Pant. Nice fit, decent thickness (thicker than guide pant) and very resistant to water. Best price you'll find too. I wear them later season too with a merino base under it. Good luck!

The KUIU does look like what I want. I take it they have no dealers you have to buy direct?

Do sizes seem to be OK or do they run large or small?

Order from KUIU direct. I order one size bigger so I can layer if needed. They fit awesome. Still can wear a belt if needed and they have great stretch properties.

You'll love them. Both Vias and Verde work great.

I use the Sitka Mountain pant and like them a lot. They have the same DWR finish as the 90%, so that may not be repellant enough for you.

Perhaps there are varying degrees of DWR because all of the Sitka, Kuiu, and Kryptek stuff lists DWR.

Sitka mountain pant, core 4 element, and KUIU are all great choices. Mountain Hardwear makes some great pants, albeit they aint offered in camo.

Personally I use Sitka 90% pants most all year. When it gets cold I put base layer long underwear on underneath. Use to wear wool pants in the cold, but found this combination is just as warm. If snow, pair of gaters go on to.
Might be just me, if I wear any type of goretex, I sweat too much for my liking.
I like the idea behind the Timberline Sitkas but with my short legs, my knees dont match up to the added materials made for em.

KUIU is an athletic fit line. Some people don't like the fit cuz it's not falling off you. They are also designed for layering, so if you wear a 36 waist...order a 36 waist. I wear the Attack pant year round. I will wear base layer when coyote stands are below zero and they are more than adequate for me. I won't wear anything but KUIU anymore!

I have used Sitka 90's for hunting everywhere from Alaska dall sheep to Colorado elk in Nov to Wyo antelope in Sept. I add a pair of patagonia capaline long johns that come in different thickness. If it rains/snows and to cut the wind I add Sitka Stormfront pants. These have worked great for just about all situations.

Sometimes if I hunt super hot conditions I wear a pair of super light polarfleece/microcfleece pants that allow air circulation and dry super fast.
