I by no means spend my life in the mountains or hills for what it's worth, but it seems like ever time I make it out west for a hunt I end up with blisters on my heels ,balls of my feet and sometimes the tops of my feet. Most of my hunting is in early season with a muzzleloader so it has always been warmer. I've tried different boots, different socks, but nothing so far has seemed to work.

So.....what's everyone wear and how does it work for you?

You could have the best boots in the world, but if your feet are not used to terrain, rocks, long days, you will get blisters no matter what you are wearing. Break your feet in before you go west.

I agree with above. Feet need to be broke in as well as the boot. Wear your boots plenty prior to the hunt to help. Get them calisus (spelling??) worn into your feet, no better blister prevention than having them.
I also believe socks are one of the more important aspects right behind a proper fitting boot to your own foot. Use a good quality sock, I prefer smart wool. Also, I always carry a dry pair of socks in my pack, if my feet feel wet or getting hot spots, change your socks. If your able too, middle of the day, take your boots off and let your feet and socks air out. Thats helped me prevent blisters.
My old man has always said.
Happy feet makes for a happy hunter. Nothing faster can damper a hunt with sore feet.

+1 on above suggestions...additionally if you can, it is always a good idea to try and find terrian similar to your hunt and walk for a few weeks to get those feet as well as legs in shape. If your a flat lander then find some hills or a treadmill to workout on...your feet will thank you big time when its time for your hunt.

Make sure you have good fitting boots and some quality socks that are snug but not to tight. Slippage or loose fit will give you blisters every time if your trying to walk steep country. Always carry some "lambs skin" blister patch :) in your backpack to treat any sign of blisters before they get to the point of ruining your hunt. WE use "Smartwool socks" they are expensive but wik moisture well in hot conditions and will keep your feet warm in coldest conditions. If you choose to try some quality socks of similar brands no matter the brand. Always take your boots along to the store and fit your socks to your shoes. The Smartwool socks can initally feel thick but when you put on your boot the socks compress well and give you a great fit if you choose the correct thickness sock...Good Luck and wishing you good "feet" :) on your next western hunt.
