Anyone use a Garmin Oregon 450T GPS? Any problems? Thinking of getting one and a SD card with landownership info. My Delorme won't show private inholdings in NF and NG property.

That's the model I'm looking to get for same reasons. Like my Magellan but no private/public sd card compatability.
They have good reviews and are reasonable on Amazon.

I have the 450T and love it. I have the Oregon map chip and it has really been nice this year on the spring bear hunt. Going to pick up the Wyoming and Colorado chips as well. Beats the heck out of my 10 yr old Garmin. Super easy to use as well. On the bear hunt I let my 9 yr old use it and he had no problems.

Just pulled the trigger on a 450T from Cabela's. At $199 it was just too good a deal to pass up. Now I will need to buy a couple SD cards with 24K topo and land ownership data and I will be all set.

If you are going to buy SD cards from Huntingpsmaps.com, order by the end of May and get free shipping.

I ended up ordering one from cabelas with some of my CC points. It was just too good of deal to pass.
Now I need to get the map chip from huntingpsmaps. Thanks for the heads up on free shipping Bragabit.

I have been shopping around for about a year for a good GPS, I am from Oregon originally so I thing that had something to do with my choice, it is the one I will be purchasing later this month. By far I think its the best choice. Its just too versatile to turn down.

did you end up getting one?

I got one of the refurbished 450t units from Cabelas as a "learner" because I'd never used GPS before. It was easy to use and took no time at all to learn.
Looks like it will do anything I'll ever need a GPS for. The individual state chips are a must.
Never thought I needed GPS but now that I have it I'm glad I got it.

My folks got one this year....it is awesome. Definitely helped my dad fill his bull tag this year. should have gotten one a while ago. I'm borrowing it and don't want to give it back.

Update,

I did buy a 450T and used it with a Huntmaps sd card with landowner info on my Wy lope hunt. It all worked real well. Will be buying sd cards with the landowner data for NM and Colo. soon. If you are looking for a GPS unit for hunting I can recommend the Garmin 450 even for us "old" guys who are not real tech savy.

I got one this summer and used it on a Wyoming deer and antelope hunt. I love it, easy to use, and the SD card land ownership map was really useful, especially in hunting new country. You see where you are, on which road you're driving so no guessing where you will end up, and where is the private land.

I was with my buddy when he shot his mule deer buck, and we wouldn't have taken the chance of getting to and shooting that buck without the GPS and chip, he was in a 400y strip of public land between private land.

So get that Oregon GPS, and get the chip, unless you're hunting solid chunks of public land. And you may want to get the chip that gives you 3-4 states for 100$, since the only difference between these and the 100$ per state chip is the more expensive one gives you the name of the landowner. Only useful if you plan to track down landowners and ask for permission. Not for me. But I only learned that after I bought my chip, but the next ones will be the multi-states bundle.

Just bought the Oregon 450T on CL and it works great. Are there other companies that provide these chips and if so, are they comparable to huntinggps.com as far as price and product quality?
Thanks, Matt
