Eureka Solitaire Backpacking Tent

Hey guys,

I have an opportunity to buy a Eureka Solitaire backpacking tent for only $30. Its a good deal, so I think I am going to jump on it even though I would probably prefer buying a tent that has a built in vestibule. I am 5'10" and pretty skinny. For any of you out there who have experience with this tent my only question is, what do you do with your gear? Being as there isnt a vestibule, where do you put your gear, boots, gun, etc? Hang it in a tree or what?

Or maybe some of you out there have a small tent with no room--same idea....what do you do with all your gear?

I hunt in an area that does rain often so this is a concern. Any help you can give would be great. Thanks!

I went thru that with a good small tent for years and with a bivy and tarp. Nothing beats a good 2 man tent for solo hunts IMHO. I got a Kelty Gunnison 2.0 and no regrets. Everything goes inside and it has 2 vestibules for access. It was a lifesaver in the Sierras with snow and rain. Now I'm living and hunting NM and usually don't need more than the bivy and the base camp, but I take the Kelty just in case the weather turns and I'm packing in.
I also have a 3 person GanderMtn dome tent for base camp with my truck/campershell.
Check REI and Campmore for deals. MSR, North Face, and BA make great tents too. Quality is worth every penny at times.

I have a Eureka solitaire. It is fine for when it doesn't rain. The fly is too short and rain rebounds up and through the mosquito mesh when it comes down at an angle.
