I am looking at getting some of the microtex pants from Cabelas and was wondering if I should get the regular or the insulated ones. They will mainly be used on mid to late October hunts in the western states. I would wear a good base layer under them if it was real cold but cant decide if I should get them insulated as we do a lot of hiking. Thanks for any input.

I have 2 pair of the reg. If it's cold I wear a base layer. Other than that, I wear just the pants. They work great.

Get the uninsulated ones. You can always add base layers, Micortex tends to be plenty roomy for me so layers don't hurt.

LAST EDITED ON May-30-13 AT 08:06PM (MST)[p]Uninsulated, just add base layers or another layer over for real cold weather.
My favorite hunting clothes too.
I am on my second set of micro-tex,going on 6 yrs on them.Still like new to me. I got unhemmed pair and added drawstring in the hem. I wear Rain Suede or Berber fleece windproof over for wet or cold.
