Exped air mattress

I just picked up this sleep pad. It came recomended from a good source. It is 72"X 20" X 2" thick and weighs 22oz.(R rating of 4.1)the compressibilty is pretty good, as is an air mattress and not a pad. The repair kit and cool little pump is included in the package that cost me $100.

Has anyone logged time with this item? How well does it hold up and do I need to take any special care. Unlike a pad it has probably 0 "R" rating if deflated from a hole. I will be sleeping in a floorless shelter with a ground sheet of some kind.
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I've had two of the down ones for several years. Used them backpacking and horseback hunting. I've never had a problem and I have a bad back so they really help me out getting a good night's sleep so I can hunt the next day. Just my two cents.

I've used the Exped SynMat UL7 for a couple years now, backpacking and motorcycle camping. As long as you check the ground for sharp objects (like any air matress) you should be good. If you have a good ground sheet and check for sharpies, I'd feel confident.

I have an Exped as well and they are awesome at what they do and I have slept more comfortably on these than any other pad/mattress. I've had mine for about a year and primarily used it backpacking and car camping with no issues at all. I would say their durability is similar to any other sleeping pad. You are correct that the R value would go down to just about 0 if it does get punctured and deflate.
