LAST EDITED ON Aug-31-13 AT 09:44AM (MST)[p]Wondering if anyone has experiences with the Gator line of John Deere side-by-sides? Looking for one around the property, hauling wood, and overall hunting.

Had an older Polaris Sportsman that I was not too impressed with.

I have a 2011 xuv and I could not be happier with it,my only complaint is it is a tad loud.150 hours on it and have had no issues at all.

craggar,

Did you buy it off the lot or build it from the JD webpage? Any recommendations on what to get on it if I were to build it? From what I gather the power steering is a must have. Probably a good idea since the wife might drive it every now and then.

LAST EDITED ON Aug-31-13 AT 08:46PM (MST)[p]We have a 2011 at the research farm. I really the automatic choke and fuel injection. It starts first time whether it's hot or cold. I like it much better than the 2007 Kawasaki Mule that we also have. Both are 4 wheel drive. No off road experience with it.

Edited to add: We have the metal roof on it, that is sweet for working in the sun.

I bought it off the lot I have a friend that owns a jd dealership.i did not get power steering, just camo with a canopy and windshield.i don't think you need power steering my wife drives it fine and she is small.

I have wondered how the JD stacks up against the other brands.Mine would be strictly work related hauling and cutting firewood and hunting. No need for speed, just work.
