I am looking at the new Kuiu 3000 Ultra and am wondering if I can get some opinions on the following. I have a Badlands SuperDay pack and love it, just a tad small. I had a Sitka Flash32 and loved everything but the zippers.

I need the pack for :

*Carrying SWARO STS 80 spotter with full size Outdoorsman tripod, rangefinder, a few extra cartridges, etc.

*Carrying several different layers of extra clothes for changing weather conditions

* I carry a little food, a couple of pints of water, a few emergency supplies and a knife and small hatchet

* Rarely have to pack out meat, we usually can get close to it via UTV

* Not too worried about weight

* HD zippers are a must

Any Ideas / Recommendations?

Thanks

I would consider taking a good look at the Horn Hunter Full Curl System. I absolutely love mine and I use it for everything from day trips to hauling in for spike camp.
When you have the whole system it is 5000 cu/in and you can still use the meat shelf if you are a brute and can haul that much weight.
You can't beat Horn Hunters warranty. I found a OLD beat to crap pack on the classified ads that a guy wanted next to nothing for. Called them up and they were more than happy to fix it right up or replace everyting that wasn't fixable.

Also if you dont need a meat shelf then you may really like their Mainbeam XL. It would have no problem hauling everything you mentioned plus more.

I would take a look at the pack and what features are important to you. It sounds like you carry a spotting scope/tripod. I like a hunting pack that has quick and quiet access to my scope and tripod. It's also nice to have one that has lots of straps for attaching stuff to the outside. I often attach my rifle or bow so quick/quiet access. It's good to have several outside smaller pockets to put gear. Quiet cloth and waterproof. A 3000+ likely is pretty deep so it might be nice to have a zipper access the length of the pack for finding gear on the bottom? I like a pack that is tight to my body so loads aren't shifting on steep, brushy terrain. A sternum strap help with this. A thinner pack rather than a "fat" roundish pack will likely help with balance on uneven terrain and getting through thick stuff.

Other considerations for hunting packs. Obviously a larger pack will hold more gear but is a little tougher and nosier to get through super thick brush. A larger pack likely weighs more than a smaller, lighter pack. A nice thing about a larger pack is you can haul more gear for a possible overnighter and in cold weather when you are hauling more bulky, winter clothes and survival gear....or hauling out the first load after a kill.
