Lead free bullets in California

I am looking for information on how the new lead free requirements are going to effect the ballistics of my 270 with 130 grain

We converted all our rifles 270win, 30/06 and 300wby to the Nosler E-tip all copper bullets because of the new CA. Regs. First with the E-tip, Swift or and other all copper bullet they will never preform as well as what I am calling regular bullets......The all Copper bullets if you are going to hand load you need to do your homework and call the bullet manufacture for procedures and loading data.
You must reduce the maximum load to reduce chamber pressure. Since the copper bullets are a harder substance. Powder has to be reduced to relieve chamber pressure much different than loading with lead copper coated bullets.....I did a lot of research and read reviews some liked the TSX some liked the E-tip....I went with the E-tip because some reviews said that in some individual rifles the TSX was all over the place and they just could not get their rifles dialed in while others loved that bullet. Go figure...also when loading with copper bullets Nosler has a caution note in the bullet box that states that bullets should be seated deeper and not up against the chamber wall.....another procedure to help further reduce chamber pressure because of the harder copper bullets....when you choose a bullet you want to load call the bullet manufacture for their best powder and most accurate load....and throw away the loading data book because I have not found a book published yet that has all the current data for loading copper bullets...if you try and load using lead bullet data on copper bullets you could blow up your rifle and risk serious injury........

Man you seem to be way overthinking this.

I found the one bullet I can always get to shoot in tight groups very easily if I have a decent rifle is the TSX and TTSX.

Not a sensitive process either. Not sensitive to seating depth.

Downside to TSX is it flies like a turd, but unless your are shooting over 400 yds it's a non issue.

Kill's very well. It, like every other single bullet type, has certain weaknesses and should be used on game at the manufacturer's recommended min/max velocity for reliable expansion, but this is true of all bullet's including the Nosler family.

Bullet's are spendy, but worth it.

I tried the 130 GMX in my buddies .270 .030 off with some 4831 and couldn get them to fly very well I like to shoot far and based on ballistics and groups I wouldn't take it past 400 it was putting up 1.5" groups at 100

With that being said I'm finishing a build with all the good stuff trued Rem. 700 action Bartline barrel and Mc Millan stock being chambered in .280ai I have 139 GMX's and 140 TSX's and will have running in Nosler brass and CCI bench rest primers Barnes says that they should be .050 off the lands so that's where I'll start

I live in California also so I know what your going through it sucks
