I am looking to up grade my hunting clothing this year and am looking for a packable jacket that is light in weight, that I can use into November and December. I currently use wool but am looking for a lighter solution. My question is does any one know if the summit or elevation is a warmer jacket. What are the main differences between the 2. They both seem like they are made to be packable. Most of the other brands similar are more then I can justify to spend when I can be into either of these for -$120

I use Core 4 stuff and love it. Camofire has been selling most of the jackets for half price. That's where I buy all of mine. Had the jacket on Sunday for half price and cheap shipping.

Yea that's where I have been watching it. It was the summit for $80 and free shipping. Just trying to decide if I want that or the elevation. I want something I can throw in my pack for backpack hunts and also use in the cold winter months. I just got some torrent rain gear pants and jacket from cabelas for $160 shipping and all. Unfortunately a retailer told me they were going out of business which surprises me because they seem reasonably priced compared to the competition.

I have both jackets. i think the element will serve you well. The parent company is Easton so I'm surprised also.

I have the Summit Jacket and its been worth every penny, I wouldn't use it as my outer layer as I feel it would tear easier than synthetics. I use mine in a layering system. It's awesome because of how compressible and warm it is. You are correct Core4 is out of business so if you can pick one up for half off jump on it because when they sell out they are gone

I'd heard at the Expo that Core 4 is going out of business so they are closing out everything. I have some of their pants and like them. fyi, KUIU is having a sale now and I have a lot of their gear and like it a lot plus it's pretty affordable.
