Stone Glacier recently began advertising here on the site, so I wanted to thank them real quick....thanks! But I also wanted to ask who all uses the Stone Glacier Packs? I personally have not, but they look like they can hold a load tight and are very lightweight. (I'm a big fan of the straps around the packs that allow me to really crank down and secure a load. Lightweight is always great too)

The guys at Stone Glacier were telling me about the packs they recommend for different types of activities.

For summer scouting, shed hunting and day trips, the Approach 1800 is the recommended pack.
The Solo 3300 is the best for 1-3 day pack trips.
The Sky Series (5100, 6200, 6900 and 7400) are for 3+ day backpack adventures. I guess the bulk of your gear and length of stay will determine the size for each individual.

All the packs they offer sound very versatile, as they all convert to a smaller day pack or to bivy mode.

Everyone I've known that have used SG are pretty much sold on them. They make quality packs and have a following similar to those that are Kifaru fans. One thing I wish they would change is to make their bags in camo! You ought to try talking them into camo! SG doesn't seem to offer the bag, pocket, and pouch options of Kifaru. For hunting it's nice to have camo and quick and easy access to gear. Those were the deciding factors when I chose Kifaru over SG. As you mentioned in your post the SG are super light and the larger version capable of 100+ lb loads.

The Talus 6900 will be the last pack you ever buy! At least it will be for me. Light, tough, not a lot of bells and whistles to screw up. Just plain ol' awesome stuff in my opinion.

My Stone Glacier pack is hands down the best pack I have ever owned. Light and handles heavy loads very well.

Big fan of stone glacier packs - glad they are a sponsor here!!

I go through new packs every few years. I picked up a Sky5100 two years ago and couldn't be happier. It compacts down well for a day pack, and I like the grey color. It's sometimes hard to find a waist belt that fits me well (30"), they are usually too large. Other than the Kuiu pack I have, this waist belt fits me perfectly.

RE: Stone Glacier P UIacks

They are a very good pack.
I compare them to: kifaru, mystery ranch, or kuiu.
You cannot go wrong with a Stone Glacier!
