LAST EDITED ON Jun-16-16 AT 05:13PM (MST)[p]Hunting the high country backpack style where the weather is always unpredictable and often rains or snows leaves me wondering what is the best way to protect my rifle and keep it dry?

Does anyone have experience with using the Solo Hunter gun cover?
Do you like it?

I won a solo hunter from Hunters Nation a few years back. It goes everywhere I'm hunting now. It will protect your gun in nasty weather. I used it this past year in Montana, it snowed all day and at the end of the day my gun was dry. It's also good for getting to your spot if your on an atv. Keeps the dust off. I would recommend one and you won't be disappointed.

The best way I've found to keep your rifle in good condition is to care for it and pay attention. What did folks do before rifle covers ?

I really like them...and was planning to sell them in the North American Hunting Competition store, until I saw them on Camofire for cheaper then I would sell them.

I bought one to test and love it. I usually have my long range rifle in an Eberlestock pack, and this cover keeps it dry and clean.

I have also been waiting to shoot at targets or game from an observation point, and now I can have my rifle sitting out ready to go, but not getting rained or snowed on... Great product in my opinion.

Thanks for the two replies.
I went ahead and ordered one for a high country backpack hunt.

A couple damn old-school guys huh?
Mine gets wet all the time and never had an issue. Even 12 day backpack trips have not presented and issue for me....with judicious care however.
But those covers sound great for quad travel!
