Looking into a toy hauler, maybe a 24ft trailer ,I like having my bed of my truck open and not being used up with a fifth wheel, just wondering for those that have one your opinion.

We have a 21ft. Toy Hauler....love it....I am with you I like my bed to haul camping necessities, extra water, gas etc. Toy Haulers are the way to go if your going to purchase trailer...A bit more pricy but maybe find a preowned one in good shape...
Nice thing is Toy Haulers usually have 100gallon water tanks, generator built in. Flatscreen tv, I purchased a 12volt TV with dvd at Camping World for our Grandson to watch movies at night without needing to run the generator Also purchased LED lights and installed them myself to reduce 12volt power needs......also installed a reduced water flow 1.5 gal per minute shower head. that has a button to turn off .....soap down then rinse off quick showers no full hookups where we go....I spent some extra money and had the frame reinforced in the area around the axles....I pull my Toy Hauler into places you need 4x4 to get in there....just go slow just got back from a CA blacktail archery hunt...off Hwy took 11/2 hours to get it into camp....13 miles off Road....have fun you will love it...

You have many options now to convert existing lighting to LED some just plug into existing fixtures convert at least one main light inside and all the big out side lights....simple just plug it into existing socket.....good luck

Saw a few does and only one 3pt.....trying to get Our Grandson Logan his first archery buck....he had the 3pt at 7yds but a downed tree branches blocked the kill zone.....then the buck finally senced something....didnt spook'm so we went back next morning......no show......I could have killed it....I was 50yds anove Logan....tried to see if Logan could close the deal.....If I shot the buck.....it would have broke his heart.....going to hit it hard Labor Day week....closer to the rut....with wife.....Logan starting High School busy times in the Vargas Family.....Logan just completed his Karate Blackbelt...141/2 years old...so proud....take care 264mag good hunt'n.....

24' is a good size if you want to take it very far off-road. We have a 30' (Model 24AS) Desert Fox, and it's a little big to go where I used to pull our 24' Nash travel trailer. Definately have to take it slow.
Very happy with the Desert Fox. They are marketed as being made for off road. They also make a 21SW, which is probably 24-25' overall length.
They are HEAVY! And have pretry hefty tongue weights too. Our 24AS is 8500 lbs empty (12000 max) and the tongue weight is 1630 lbs empty...

Toyhaulers are great, if you need more clearance/or lifted truck flip the axles on the trailer will help. We do them for $300 so that should give a idea what it should cost ya.
