I did a tent once used Thompsons Water Seal....did the job...

If it is a backpacking tent....it's time for a new tent. Canvas...as mentioned above.

You can spray it with the silicone spray (looks like a spray paint can). It doesn't seem to last that long though. I agree with beanman...time for a new tent.
