Rhino 750

Pro?s: you don't need to carry a radio and a gps with Onyx capability, lots of mounting options, some cool measuring applications, and all the other gps advantages.

Cons: price, weight, radio isn't better than a $75 Motorola talk-about, battery specific, battery drain even with power saving mode.

If I were to do it again, I think I would pick up a cheaper used Garmin with Oynx capatability and stick with a Talkabout radio. You could probably do this 2-3 times for the same price as one New Rino. I had problems with the batteries overheating and/or not charging. Garmin took care of it under warranty but still....

I'm not sure if InReach has come out with combos yet. If so, you can text and gps from just about anywhere in the world. Sometimes it's impossible to get gps readings. Not sure if available now but it would be nice to have satellite gps, onX, and texting all with one unit.
