LAST EDITED ON Jun-23-08 AT 09:54PM (MST)[p]I am looking for a seasoned archery hunter in Idaho that would guide me through a 2008 archery hunt in traded for a Iowa whitetail hunt on private property managed for trophy whitetail. I will be hunting unit 17 in November but with the winning of a Super Hunt Tag I believe I should be hunting earlier in some of the high percentage limited draw areas. I have never been to Idaho and have won this great tag and want to make the most of it. I kill big deer regularly in Iowa and would work hard to make it happen here for the trader.

Are you "stuck" on using a bow?

With a supertag, I would NOT be limiting myself to a bow, and I would dang sure start before November.

In fact, you have the "tag of a lifetime" and I would be more than willing to make a couple trips out here if it was required.

I can think of a couple dandy rifle hunts that start the first of Oct. If you are interested send me a PM

I am now head your way on 9-22-08 to get set to hunt the SW Hills and parts of area 40. I have set myself up a base camp and will be packing both bow and gun. A local fella who also drew a mulie tag for this area will be helping as much as his schedule will allow. I think I have it all worked out. It would be great to know I had a season elk killer in camp the entire hunt but that will only happen if this helpful guys work schedule allows.

Thanks for the offer and I plan to do everything in my power to make this happen. I'll post some picture here when we're done.

The unit 40 hunt starting 9/25 would be a good place to start. Other areas to look at would be unit 76 with a 10/1 rifle hunt and even the Bannock Zone.

There are good bulls in the units around Sun Valley also.

Have fun, shoot straight!
