Greetings... I live on eastern Long Island, NY (two hours east of NYC) and love to hunt and fish. We have outstanding saltwater fishing here from late May through late October. I have a 21ft Parker center console and typically target fluke, porgy, bluefish, striped bass, sea bass and sharks. Last summer we had fluke to 8lbs, bluefish to 15lbs, striped bass to 35lbs and sharks to 150lbs. Sharks can include blue, thresher, mako and we even had a 6ft great white bite my boat last year!

I love all types of hunting and fishing and would be willing to trade a fishing trip for hunting or fishing. Hunts that I am interested in are rifle hunts for mule deer, antelope, elk, aoudad, wild boar, predators and prairie dogs. I would also consider waterfowl and upland hunts or fishing trades.

Hey there: That would be a great trip for someone not experienced in NE saltwater fishing. I grew up in White Plains, and across the river in NE New Jersey and have spent years fishing out of Sheepshead Bay and also Montauk. Actually going to be back in Springfield New jersey for the PGA Championship in July, but the wife has decided that NYC and Broadway shows will use up our spare time. Wouldn't be able to connect with you.

If you ever want to consider a DIY trip out here to SE Idaho tho, I would gladly counsel you and your friends on the areas and game, and provide all the info you would need for free. Good luck

LAST EDITED ON Feb-25-16 AT 09:07AM (MST)[p]I am unfamiliar with your area... what big game is available? What is the country like? I love hunting mule deer, but would also consider other DIY hunts.

If your schedule in July changes, please let me know. Great fishing in July.

I'm in Idaho Falls, close to Swan Valley and Jackson Hole. Mule deer, whitetails, elk, bear, mt lion, and wolves are over the counter. Controlled draws for antelope, moose, sheep, and goats. No preference or bonus point systems in place for draws. IDFG has a great hunt planner on their website for interested people to learn about the areas and animals. The Idaho forum here on MM is real good info also.
