I bid and won at a Nevada Big Horns Unlimited dinner, a trophy caribou hunt with Kelly Hougen of Artic Red River in the NorthWest Territories. Short story is I opened the bid at $7,000, and it went at $13,100. The winner backed out, and it came to me at the opening bid.
I intended the other hunter to be my son, but he now is having major knee surgery later this month and won't be ready in time. The hunt is Sept 20-28, the last caribou hunt of the season there. Wolf and Wolverine are also included. Artic Red River usually charges $5,900 per hunter, and I am offering the hunt at exactly half or $3,500, plus airfare and licensing.
I would consider a trade for 2007, but would like to sell it if possible. Kelly has sent me the info packet and you can send me a pm for any further info. Last year his hunters took 8 bulls over 380bc, with the largest being 430bc These are mountain caribou and he has an excellent track record of getting the big ones.
