Zeiss Classic Upgrade

Hey guys, my dad has some of the old Zeiss Classic 10x40's. He doesn't hunt much anymore, but I'd like to upgrade his binoculars for him. I've heard some of the bino companies will upgrade the glass at a fairly affordable price.

Does anybody know if Zeiss will upgrade the Classic glass and for how much?

ClassiC's haven't been made in over 10-years, so even if they could "upgrade" them, probably cost more than they're worth.

Zeiss Classics have the old leaded glass I'm pretty sure that is no longer made. They are arguably the best binoculars ever made. They are worth $500 +- depending on condition. If they have the T coating and are Phase corrected P they are the latest ones that were made. The TP designation is on the focus dial.

I have a couple pair of these I'll never sell. Some people think they are better than the current Zeiss Conquest or Zeiss Victory. I'd leave em alone.

+1.. for years I had some Zeiss 10X56 T*P lead glass "night owls"....they were heavy mofos but 'stunning' doesn't come close.

No way in heck I'd trade those classics for conquests, HD or otherwise.
The FL Victory? Well, that's another story. They are the brightest glass out there to many.

I'll check for the T*P, but I doubt it. It seems like he told me that he bought these in the early 80's. They probably didn't have the T*P back then.
