Nikon ED III Reviews? Input?

I found a pretty good deal on an ED III 20-60x60mm (straight body) for around $650. Does anyone own one of these, or have any experience with them? Clarity? Image quality? The retail price on the Nikon website is $1,630. Thanks in advance for any input.

Make sure it has the MCII (20x-60x) eyepiece. If it does, you will have yourself a VERY nice spotter.

I just bought one and am very impressed with the nikon. I had it side by side with a vortex viperHD and there was no comparision, the nikon was by far a better piece of glass and i could glass at least 20 minutes longer with the nikon vs the vortex.
