called Nikon on Monday and told them that my elevation cap was finally lost on my monarch. the fine threads seemed a bit stripped out and it must have come off. had a new cap sitting at my front door on Friday, free of charge. ive had that scope for over 10 years and its as good as the day I bought it.

I've been waiting for more than a year for an eye piece cap off a spotter. Not impressed. What's your secret?

my uncle is a major share holder....

seriously no secret. i just called and talked to them. i didnt expect it to show up see quick either. i figured probably a month or two. hopefully when i call back requesting the correct cap, it shows up just as quick. hell, i'll pay for it. i was expecting to the first time, but they didn't bill me.

You must be a Nikon Rep looking to drum up business. Nikon has the worst customer service in the industry.

I also lost a scope cap. I called and offered to buy a replacement, and they sent me a set free. They sent me an e-mail saying they didn't have a set and would have to put them on back order. A couple of days later, the first cap arrived. I figured they had forgotten about a set and that was fine since I was only missing one. About a week later, the second one arrived. I guess I have a spare now.

I have no affiliation with Nikon and can't comment on their customer service past this one experience which was entirely satisfactory.

Sounds better than Leica's warranty dept. After my last run-around with them I've vowed to only buy Swarvoski from now on!

Any chance I could buy that extra cap off you?

I found a set of Nikon binos that had been on the ground a couple of years, I sent them back and they charged me $25 for a refurbish fee. Still waiting on their return.

nocturalenemy,

The extra cap I received is for one of the .22 Prostaff scopes. If that will fit what you have, shoot me a PM with your mailing address and I will drop the extra one I have in the mail to you. I'm not interested in selling, but would be happy to help you out if this cap will work for you.

Sorry for the slow response, I only Login here every few days.

Tipped my spotter over while out scouting this past weekend. Damaged the eyepiece. Called Nikon and they said to send it in and they would repair or replace for $10+shipping. We'll see how they do.

Just got my brand new replacement spotter from Nikon for $23 + shipping. Pretty satisfied with the customer service. Took about a month from shipping my broken one to receiving my new one.
