Cabelas Euro HD vs. Zen-Ray Prime HD

I am in the market for a pair of new binos, and I am limited on funds so the high priced leaders are out of the question. Has anyone had any experience with the two I have listed, or maybe an equivalent?

Thanks in advance.

I have the Euro HD's. I like them and I think cabelas just changed their warranty on the HD's to make it worthwhile. Don't know much about zen ray

I have the euro hds. I like them a lot. My buddy has the new razor hds. I'd say they are about the same.

The euros are way better than any other vortex bino. I had the vipers and have looked through viper hds and the euros spanked them. The euros are better than anything made by Nikon but the EDG as well.

The new warranty is tough to beat. I know nothing about the Zen-Ray, but I'd take something made in Europe over China any day.

I'd say for at or under $1k, they are the best glass out there.

For 1K I like the Zeiss Conquest HD. They feel better in my hands. Only downfall is no screw in tripod adapter. Can't go wrong with the Euro's.

I had the Zen Ray ED 2 it had outstanding performance, surprising for the costs, until the sun started going down then pffft, not too good. I got rid of mine because the focus nob seized up in the middle of a hunt. My cheap Zeiss Conquest rifle scope got me ten more minutes at dusk than the ZR cheap Chinese bino. I will never buy a cheap Chinese bino again. Buy the Euros

As I understand it, the Cabelas euros are simply Meopta meostar B1 binoculars.

I think the main difference is that the RE-BRANDED ones that say cabelas on them come in a smaller variety.

If you were seriously looking at the Euros, I would say go look at the Meopta line up and you may find that there is a binocular available with the Meopta name on it, that is not available with the cabelas name on it.

I know that my next pair of binos will be the Meopta 8 X 56mm.
Not available with the cabelas name on it, but I would rather have the Meopta name on it anyways. It is after all, a Meopta set of binos.

You are really not comparing cabelas binos to Zen-Ray. You are comparing Meopta to Zen-Ray.

The Czech Republic brand may be confusing though.
They have manufacturing facilities in Long island New York, as well as the Czech Republic.
As I understand it, the Cabelas binos are made in new york.

My old Zen Ray ED2 binoculars are close optically to my brothers Euro's (non-HD), low light included. I will say the Euro's still were a little better. As far as the two mentioned I have not looked through either.

One thing that may be of use to you is my experience with zen ray costumer service. The wind kicked my tripod over with my binoculars attached. The fall broke the twist up eye piece and the hinge bolt attaching my tripod adapter. While this was my fault and not covered under warranty they took very good care of me. The Prime HD come with a better no fault warranty similar to that of vortex. Where my penny's seem hard to gather sometimes its a good thing to have. Others will know better the warranty policy for cabelas/meopta.

I've had two pair of Zen Rays and for the money they are not bad. I've got the Euro's now and the quality in my opinion is much better.fatrooster.

I have the Meostar 10x42 HDs and they are incredible. Go with the Euros or just buy some Meoptas. You won't be disappointed.
