I have the VX3 and love it, it has the knob on top for my gun and bullet, its only the 3x10.
Looking to upgrade to a scope with a higher power. i want a scope that has a knob that I can order for the bullet drop.

Do I stay with the xv3 4x14 around 600
a vortex 4x16 LR I believe around 600
also saw a ziess 4x16 for around 1000.

Just trying to decide what direction to go
thanks

If you can afford it Zeiss is pretty awesome. I have the 4x14 Leupold and think its great but the Zeiss has better clarity and light transmission.

The Swaro z3 4-12 and z5 3.5-18 have good turret options. Another option are minox scopes in the ZEi and Z5 that have custom turrets available on line for them as well.

I just upgraded myself vx3 3.5-10 to 4.5-14x50 vx3 with CDs and love it.And right now Leupold has a $80 rebate.check out sport optics free shipping and no tax on all scopes hope that helps good luck.

I have 2 zeiss conquest's and my buddy has one also, covering 3x9 to 6.5x20. I also have 3 Vortex Viper HD, including 2 of the LR versions.

The Zeiss has hands down the best glass. My 6.5x20 is so good I have thought about mounting on tripod as a back-packing spotter.

Fact is I don't believe clarity is that important in a rifle scope and the Vortex has plenty of clarity for the job. For me the Vortex 30mm tube, dial, and especially their Dead Hold BDC reticle with 2moa windage hash's is the best overall set-up, plus it's at a discount to Zeiss cost wise.

Leupold has NO reticle to compete, though I am sure the scopes are very good and clarity on par or better than Vortex.

Warranties are all good and customer support reports are as well.

So, I recommend Vortex, but don't expect a discount and good luck at times even finding them in stock. Of course you should call Camera Land as they are great guys and big supporters here.

This is more a matter of opinion debate than anything else, all the scopes mentioned are great.

I have several Swarovski's they're great except for one issue, from what I'm told there adjustment system is lacking and not up to the task of repeated use as with a CDS type system.

I have Some leupolds with the CDS and again in my opinion they are tops for the money and maybe as good as anything even at a higher price. I spent an hour turning one of my CDS VX3 scopes up and down and shooting to verify it before I really trusted it. it worked pefect from start to finish.

To answer the Op's question, if it were me I'd buy a 4.5X14 VX3 CDS, if you want a brighter scope go for the 50mm version, if you want the 50mm but not the high rings it requires get the 50mm low profile version. don't forget the new VX6 too, expensive and heavy but I think they may be the best scope on the market today in their class.

Leupold's service and the fact they're american made ( in oregon ) makes me a little biased.

Stay thirsty my friends
