Used Leicas or Zeiss Binos

I would like opinions on what would be the better deal.

I found a used pair of Leica 10X42BA in very good shape for $800. Also have option to buy Zeiss (demos) 8X or 10X42 Zeiss Conquest HD models for the same price. What to do...go used or new(demo)HD? How does the glass compare?
Will have to live with this choice for a long time. I am some what rough on equip. The binos will get used a lot for Bow, Muzzy, Rifle, scouting, boating, and sporting events.

Warranty would play into my mind. Please correct me if I am wrong but isn't leica a limited warranty where Zeiss is unconditional lifetime. Might be worth looking into if you are rough on your gear as you indicate.

If I was you I would wait for some Swaro slc's to come on sale and get those!

No way in hell I'd pay $800.00 for a Leica BA. They're at least four generations old (BN, Ultravid, Ultravid HD). That, and Leica's not known for the best warranty coverage on secondhand goods.

Thanks so much everyone. I did not know these Leicas were that old. The HD conquest model did impress me. light weight, and good quality as best I could tell inside the store. Have heard they don't have the best reputation on customer service. With the Zeiss there is a choice, and I would rather have the 8X version anyway. This might be my last bino purchase . Wanted it to be a correct one.
