Is the G7 Rangefinder, worth the money? Or is there another rangefinder simalar to the G7 on the market. Is the G7 hard to figure out?

For serious long range guys, I'm sure it's worth the money. For regular hunters, probably not so much. mtmuley

It's a awesome range finder. You can program and save five different guns in it at once. The word on the street is they are coming out with a range finder bino set up. Should be out for the shot show and available to the public after that.

LAST EDITED ON Jul-30-14 AT 10:58PM (MST)[p]My buddy just bought one and seems to like it. I went with the Leica 1600-B because in not ever gonna shoot past 600 yards....plus the extra cash. The Leica gets you way quicker feedback than the G7.

I like how compact the Leica is as well for bow hunting. My buddy kept his vortex rangefinder for bowhunting because how big the g7 is and how slow the g7 is.

The Leica or the Vortex don't do the same same thing as the Gseven range finder. The Gseven measures the pressure, temperature and shot angle. it gives you a line of sight (los) to your target. It uses your bullets BC,muzzle velocity that you put into it to figure your correct hold.

The Leica does allow you to input your ammunition info and provides the holdover info desired.

For $1,000 dollars less the Leica 600 B does 90+% of the G7.

For $5.00 Istelok App you can store all kinds of balistic data for all your Rifle and scope combo's.

Also a Hornady.com had balistic calculator that you can print out the output.

If it was my money I would save $1,00 and go with the Leica 1600B

LAST EDITED ON Aug-05-14 AT 07:43AM (MST)[p]That's what I'm saying. Head to head the g7 does do more than the Leica.....

But if you are stalking a muley with a bow or are into elk at close range and have the g7 you are at a severe disadvantage because the lieca is so small and compact and gives you reads back way faster. The g7 almost requires both hands to operate it's so big. That's why my buddy kept his vortex to accompany his g7.

I couldn't justify the difference in price when I'm only shooting out to but under 600 yards.
