in the market for my first spotting scope. Wanted to stay under $500. Came across a straight Vortex Viper 15-45x65 today on sale for 350. If you were in the market for your first spotting scope and had a limited budget, would you jump on this deal? Will be using it in Wyoming to look for elk, deer, and shed antlers. All opinions are welcome.

I've got a Vortex Skyline 20x60x80 that i will sell you for $300. Reconditioned 2 years ago. pm me if interested

I have the Vortex Viper 20-60X80 and dollar for dollar and the Vortex warranty I feel it can't be beat. For $350 you can't go wrong, if you don't like it you can sell it for what you paid for it.

It is a brand new scope, it was a store demo. I bought it, and used it last weekend. I like it so far. Spotted a fresh horn way off in the distance with my binos, and after pulling the spotter out, I was able to verify that it was not only a fresh elk horn, but there were two of them laying there, two separate singles. Hope to put it to more use in a couple weeks.

The only good chinese thing I've ever has was an egg roll.

I'd rather have a used something else from somewhere else. my brother in law was bragging about his great buy on a new scope last year, Vortex. it fogged up the second day of his elk hunt and he finished the season with his old rifle and a 2x7 Leupold as old as he is.

They did warranty it but they wouldn't take it back. it's for sale if anyone wants a like new 4x12 snowglobe.

You get what you pay for, sometimes less.

Stay thirsty my friends
