Looking for feedback on a couple scopes

Hoping the collective knowledge of MM can help me out a little. Looking for anyone who might be able to give me firsthand feedback or opinions on a couple scopes. The scope will end up on a .270 Tikka or Weatherby. I would say virtually all of my shots are under 400 yards. These are the scopes I am considering:

Minox ZA 5 HD 3-15x42 SF- $599 from Cameraland.

Leupold VX-3 4.5-14x40mm- $549 from Cabelas.

I've looked through the Leupold and like it- cant find a Minox locally but am hearing great things about them. Or is there another scope around that price range I should be considering? Not a huge fan of Vortex right considering I've had enough warranty issues with bino's.

Thanks for any and all input.

Minox is good stuff but I don't have any experience with their scopes.

Leupolds on the other hand I have dating back to the early 60's. what more can you ask for than high quality optics you can send back 40 years later and get fixed no questions asked. made in and repaired in the USA no less.

I have Swarovski's , Zeiss and I just bough a Nightforce and I can't tell much difference between any of them in the same tube and lense diameters. in my opinion Leupold has no competition in their price range .

I have multiple Leupold 4.5x14's and they're great scopes , get the CDS if you have any need for such a thing. the only possible thing you may not like about this scope is the low power setting, 4.5 is a little higher than I prefer . but I get by with it just fine.

Stay thirsty my friends

Thanks for the feedback guys. I went with the leupold. Got the cds and hope to have it all set up in the next week or two.

I have both scopes that you have asked about. The Leupold is a better scope in my opinion. The CDS works great. I have always been a Leupold fan. The Minox is also a very quality scope. Mine is not the SF model. I would get the Leupold if paying $500. I did get my Minox from Cameraland for $320 and I feel for that price it is a great buy. I got a turret from Kenton industries for the Minox and it works well.
