Looking to get a tripod. Wondering how many of you use any of the Gitzo tripods? what do you guys think about them? My other choice is a Outdoorsman tripod. Anyone have the outdoorsman? i don't glass standing so I'm looking at more of a medium height and will be for a 65mm spotter

I've never used the Vito but do use an Outdoorsmans. It is a high quality tripod. Very sturdy and lightweight. I've used mine since 2004 and it's been great. Fatrooster.

I use the carbon fiber Gitzo tripod and it's been great. I have the pistol-grip Manfrotto head on it.
The thing has worked like a champ for several years.
Mine is the compact, backpack type. Just right for me.

I also use the Outdoorsman tripod with a Jim White head.Years and years of use,a quality setup ... Bruce & SilverGrand

I use the Outdoorsmans panhead. Its smoother than any thing else I've used including the Outdoorsmans ball head but I really have not used lots of other tripods or heads. fatrooster.

I have this same setup. I bought a used carbon Gitzo off of eBay. I've had it for years, beat it up, everyone who ever tries it want to buy it off me.

I have two Gitzo tripods and really like them. I have a Manfrotto pan head on the larger one and a Gitzo ball head on the smaller one I throw in my pack.
