Thoughts on Leica Duovid Binoculars

So, I'm strongly considering finally dropping the coin on some good glass. I've been thinking about getting 8x binoculars, but I'd really like to be able to have the extra power if need be. I do have a spotting scope, but it would sure be nice to have the extra power in my hands. Any thoughts on the Leica Duovids? Experiences? Alternatives? Thanks in advance for all responses!

I've had a few pair and love them. Multiple power is handy and eliminates multiple pair. Only down side is they are heavy.
