I CURRENTLY HAVE A PAIR OF 10X42 MEOPTA MEOPRO NON HD BINOS.I AM LOOKING AT A PAIR OF NEW 10X42 RAZORS.MY QUESTION IS WOULD BE A MAJOR UPGRADE OR IS IT WORTH DOING?

I would say you would probably notice some difference, just due to the HD glass in the razors. I've spent the last couple weeks comparing the Cabela's Euro HD (Meopta Meostar HD 10x42) to a bunch of different high end glass. To my eyes they are better than the Razors.

Really the only way you are going to know is take your current binos with you to the nearest place that sales the razors and compare them outside under different lighting conditions. Aside from having both side by side in the field why you are hunting, that's the best comparison you will be able to make.

Everyone's eyes see things a little differently. The vortex warranty is nice, but be prepared to use it...unless you leave your binos in the truck or in the closet most of the time. I've had to send my Vipers back a few times over a 7-8 period due to the cheap eye cup assembly's that bind and bend very easily. A common complaint. I don't beat up my equipment either. I've noticed the same thing on my father-in-laws newer Razors HD. For $1200 glass...the quality should be a little better IMO. The razors get great reviews, but only your eyes will be able to decide if it's worth upgrading from your non-HD Meopta's. Cabela's has the 10x42 EURO HD's on sale for a great price right now. They are on par with the big 3, from my experience in testing over the past couple weeks.

I have the 10x42 euro hds and love them.

Just go to cabelas and make the salesperson go outside with you at dusk and look through them. Throw them on tripods and take your time.

That will tell you more than any of us can.

"That's a special feeling, Lloyd"

It's simple really. Would you rather have a Chinese or European product. I imagine the right engineer could make a pair of binos with toilet paper tubes, that would be equally as clear as anything on the market. I doubt they would hold up under hunting conditions though.

A while back I was looking for Binos and I looked at the Euro HD's, Razors and Zeiss Conquests. I know you are talking about going from a non HD Meopta to a Razor.

I did not like the Razors. They are way over priced for what they offer in my opinion. Others mileage may vary.

I thought the Euro HD's were much better and the Zeiss Conquests were much, much nicer and 300 dollars less.
