for about $900 u could get a vx6 with a side focus.

4.5-14 vx3i would be a great choice. Also look at the Burris Veracity in 3-15 if you want a first focal plane reticle. Burris also has a $100 mail in rebate till the end of the year.

These guys have it for $600, so only $500 after rebate.

It's kind of hard to find such a scope in the six hundred range but not impossible. I would suggest Vortex Viper PST 1-4x24mm w/ TMCQ MOA PST-14ST-A, it is [a href="http://perfectriflescope.com/the-best-vortex-rifle-scopes-review"]one of the best Vortex scopes[/a], it is much cheaper than $600 at the moment (some $470 Amazon) and it has an adjustable zero stop.

I'd rather have a 2.5-10x or 4-16x on a 300 Weatherby. I do like the Vortex PST however. Their zero stop uses a set of shims and won't stop your turret exactly on zero, but it works well for its intended purpose. The Vortex has awesome turrets and a very good reticle. Glass is not the greatest, but plenty clear for most purposes. I'd put it on par with a Leupold VX-2 or VX-3. I have several of these scopes and they are workhorses. For the price they are hard to beat.
