Does anyone have any experience with this company? I looked through the 12x50 binnos, and was impressed by the clarity for the price. Their rifle scopes appear to be exceptional as well.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-03-17 AT 07:52AM (MST)[p]I purchased an Ares spotter of theirs, and kept my vortex viper hd spotter as a side by side for a few weeks of the season. Athlon stood out above the vortex in any number of areas. It's also worth note that Athlon's warranty is very good. Here are some pics taken with my iphone through mine. The deer are about 250-300 yards, and the bull is over 1000 yds.

Ozz,
These spotting scopes also caught my eye. I was looking at the Cronus and want to see a side by side of it vs the Razor.

Do you have anything else to report on this company or the spotting scope?

Here is a video with a side by side of an Ares and a Razor... there's a spot at 4:15 that shows digiscope video through each and how they compare.

Here is a video with a Cronus review I found interesting comparing the Cronus to some European glass...

Might be helpful if you haven't seen these yet.

Thanks!

The video says that it struggled in the "low light test" Have you noticed any problems in the early morning and evenings?

So for me, I went from a Vortex Viper HD to this Athlon Ares (both 15-45x65) and the first test I ran on them side by side in the evening I found the Athlon to be more clear and bright in low light than the Vortex. The caveat here being my comparison was against the viper not the Razor. For me it was an upgrade in every aspect... However, I have yet to sit down and run the same tests or comps against a razor.

I think for me where I found value was that for the price range the Vortex Viper runs in, I could get a spotter that was higher performing. From that perspective it's been a win for me and has proven true. I bought my Athlon for the same price I sold a 2 year old Viper for.

That all said, I will be able to run a side by side comparison on the Ares and the Razor in Mid March, and I'm happy to post up pics of a side by side comp then.

Just wandering if you ever got to compare the Ares against the Razor and if you have photos:)
About to make my purchase and not sure if the savings on the Ares is really worth it?

I had an Argos BTR scope on my 300 RUM and it destroyed the reticle. They replace with a new one, sold it and bought an Ares rifle when it first came out, the glass was not as good as my Burris veracity, sold the Ares and bought a nightforce nxs and never looked back
I checked out their Ares binoculars and they seemed pretty good, but got some maven binoculars
