New ZEISS RF 10x42 dim led display?

Anyone have any issues with the new ZEISS range binoculars being to dim on the display to read ranges?
Just received a couple pairs and both are to dim to read when ranging against bright backgrounds like dry grass in sunlight or red rock faces with the sun shining on them.
I have called ZEISS after two days got a call back and they said try changing the battery. Did that no difference. I have brightness setting turned up to 11 already in the settings.
Love the glass on these but I must be missing something in the settings.
The manual tells you nothing good nor does the app they refer you to. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Leica, Zeiss, Swaro will all washout in bright conditions, especially bright sunny days with snow on the ground. I sometimes have to hit the button on my Leica's and then move the glass to a dark background to read the display. Comes with the territory.

I previously had el ranges and they were plenty bright maybe I have a dim set Zeiss is going to send another set to test against mine.
