I am in the market for a new scope. I am going to go with either a Leupold VX 5HD or 6HD,with the B&C reticle. My thinking is i can use the B&C reticle out to 400 yards of so then utilize the CDS dials on anything past 400 yards. I was wanting to see if anyone has any advice or input on either one of these two scopes. Also the VX 6HD comes with an illuminated reticle and I no experience with a illuminated reticle. Does anyone have any input on the illuminated article's good or bad? Any comments or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance guys.

I run the VX6 (non hd) with the windplex illuminated reticle. I love the scope! It has truly been a game-changer for me. As far as the illuminated reticle goes, its fun to play with and nice in low light situations. For me, I could take it or leave it, my hunting partner said that with his old eyes, his next scope will definitely have it. I haven't had much experience with the VX5, but comparing the price, If money were tight I would go VX5, if not, step up to the 6. Good luck.

GAHunter,
I currently have a non HD VX6 with a Leupold Custom Shop turret on it. I'm confused as to why you would want to use the B&C reticle when it is only an estimate of your ballistic data. My advice would be to go with a standard reticle and have Leupold ?build? a custom turret (based upon the data you supply). The turret will not cost you anything as you will get 1 free with the purchase of your scope. Depending upon your ballistics, if you select a 200 yard zero, the turret will provide elevation adjustment to at least 800 yards. Basically what I am saying is that the turret will make the B&C reticle unnecessary. I assume that you have a rangefinder and can adjust the turret based upon the distance to your target. I don't have any experience with illuminated reticles.

What can you say about these examples from ATN, X-SIGHT II HD SERIES, first digital scope to break the true HD barrier! Gone are the grainy black and white images - the X-Sight II takes digital imaging to a whole new level. You will have crystal clear images and millions of colors will have you forgetting that you are looking through a digital scope.
