i am looking for some new tires on my dodge 2500.i was wondering if anyone reccomends any paerticular brand.i am looking for a tire that will last at the least 35,000 miles but also do well in the snow and mud.right now i run a 35" pro comp all terrain extreme and i have gotten 45,000 miles out of them no complaints other than i would like a more agressive tire.

my son had a 2500 dodge with toyo 33s & got close to 40000 miles & never rotated them !!! I have an 07 2500 duramax & I just put another set of toyos on mine.. 1st set I got over 37000 miles {& still had close to 4 or 5000 miles left on them} they handle great in snow & mud & pretty much all kinds of terrain..I rotate my tires every 3500 to 4000 miles & run them at 45 psi...

so, do you want another A/T/ or go to an M/T?

if M/T, I would recommend Maxxis Bighorns. I have been running a set for 34k now. Most of my play is off road, Co. and Nm. Have been great in snow and mud, good grip on the rocks too.

were developed to run the Baja 1000. If you know anything about off road you have then heard of Maxxis. Way better priceing than BFG, Goodyear, etc.

LAST EDITED ON Mar-19-11 AT 06:28PM (MST)[p]Goodrich TA's, (or MT's if you want something 'specific')...strongest tires out there, great handling , superior off road performance, up to whatever you can throw at em

Baja and Dakar champions many times over...I've been running TAs exclusively for at least a decade, and I hammer the hell out of em! and they always keep on truckin...

another tire to look at is the Hankook Dyna MT

never skimp on your truck's 'boots' ;)

Hands down first choice-BFG Mud Terrain
Second Bridgestone Dueler M/T (if you can still get them)

Both work very well off road but refined enough for a daily driver.

BFG is the only tire to buy. If you want to spend time plugging and/or changing flats, buy the TOYO....softest tire out there!

Its not considered a true mud tire but its one heck of an aggressive AT, look at the reviews on the Goodyear Wrangler DURATRACS. It was hard to find a bad review on them.
They are very good in the dirt, snow, and wet. I have not tried mine in the thick gooey stuff yet, but I really really try to avoid the nasty. I'm getting too old to dig out trucks, and I'm not that old.
You may get a longer lasting tire over a mud tire, but still not compromise much as far a tread pattern.

Goodyear wrangler M/T 10 ply kevlar reinforced sidewalls. have over 40K on them and no issues what so ever. They dont ball up in the snow like the BFG A/T and I havent had to put my chains on once sense I got them. My truck goes until it becomes a snow plow and then I back off. Had to chain up every other brand and make of tire though to get to where I hunt in January. In fact I havent even been stuck with these bad boys and yes I will be buying another set. Outstanding mud flingers too
