Kennetrek's Which one?

LAST EDITED ON Apr-13-11 AT 08:58PM (MST)[p]alright fellas, gonna buy some kennetrek's, I am sick and tired of danner pronghorns coming unstitched after three hikes. Need some insight in the kennetrek's. I would like to get a 400 gram boots, and was wondering the longevity of them. Any info is appreciated. Probably didn't spell it right.

The "Kenetrek" boots I like are the Hardscrabble Hiker and if you are looking for a 10" boot then the mountain Extreme 400 is the one I'd recommend.

I've used mine for many "Rugged Rocky" hunts with no problems at all. Good luck.

I do want the tall ones, are those the tallest they make, and what about sizing, i don't live anywear that i can go try them on, right now, how do they size?

i know you said your tired of the danner pronghorns, but you might want to look into the elk hunters made by danner. best boot ever made in my opinion. they have ten inch tall boots. ive run these boots for 5 years and i just barely sent them in this spring to get re-soled. i didnt like the kenetreks, they felt too narrow on my foot and i didnt like how "hard" they felt. just thought i would share my opinion.

I feel if you wear a 10 boot and it is tight then you need a 10 1/2. You want a 1/2 size larger. If you would like you can Shoot me an email and I can call you to help you try to get the right size. [email protected]

I get them 1/2 size bigger as well. I run an 11 in regular shoe sizes and I found 11.5 fits me best.

As far as the danner elk hunters. They are decent boots, but do not have near enough ankle support for me. I have had mine for years, but they mainly stay at home while I take out the kennetreks and asolo hiking boots.

But, every foot is different and not every person is going to like or fit a certain brand...

I just bought the mountain extreme in size 13 and they don't fit me the way I like. I really like the boot and wore them three days but I am getting some heal lift and they are tight on my mid foot. I will sell them if anyone is interested because I don't like the fit. $320.
