Have any of you purchased the pro-series vacuum sealer from cabelas? Any good or better options?
My dad and I are tired of buying the cheapo's and looking for a upgrade that will hopefully last a few years. Not wanting to spend a ridiculous amount of money though.

Thanks

I gave up on those things. I went back to using the Glad Press'n Seal. I wrap it tight, then place the wrapped meat into a freezer baggie, and then press the air out of it. It works really well. The baggies even have a place designed to write on. I've had less freezer burn this way than I did with those vacuum bags, and it's a lot cheaper.

Mntman: The top quality Cabela's sealer according to reports is very good but as I remember a little pricy. We went with the Foodsaver Pro Plus. This sealer was made specifically for game and fish applications. The unit has a heavy duty two or three stage pump and does not over heat after a few packages. We paid around $270> They carry the FoodSaver Pro Plus at BassPro Shops but we purchased ours on-line directly from the manufacture/distributor.

Ckeck them out at there website and read some current reviews. So far this unit has work well for us.
