I bought my first pair two weeks ago. I went on a quick morning hunt to hopefully break them in a bit before my big hunt in Nov. My heels and both malleoli were killing at a quarter mile. I stuck it out and put 6 miles on them. I decided to wear them to work, since I am on my feet all day. The boot has shown some relief around the heel and malleoli but my feet are killing me by the end of the day.
I have heard of people switching the in-sole? Anyone else have a similar experience?
Also, does the squeakiness ever subside?

If a pair of boots (or shoes) aren't comfortable when I first put them on, they're not ever going to be comfortable. I'm not about to put myself through that kind of misery. Sounds like you're trying to make your feet conform to the boots, not the other way around. I never "ever" order boots by mail. I gotta try them on and compare them to others and try them on again. It sometimes takes hours. Doing this may sound like a pain in the butt, but it's much better than the pain I would feel in my feet if I didn't do it this way. I'd have been turning around before the truck was out of sight, and heading back to the store for a trade in.

Thanks bucklover, I actually just got back from Cabelas and switched them to a smaller size. I talked with another guy there that knew what he was talking about opposed to the original guy that helped me out. The size that I had purchased was too big. I also bought a different in-sole and switched out the meindl one. The boots were originally comfortable right from the start when I had purchased them. It wasn't until I put them to the test that I noticed how uncomfortable they were. I hope this solves the problem, if not I will be looking for another boot.

the last 3 pairs of boots I have owned over the last like 7 years have been Meindls I started with the Ibex & they were great but had a manufacture flaw so I swapped them for the Perfect hunters & I have wore them out..the pair I have now are pushing 3 years & they are still in near perfect condition..I have never had to BREAK them in..that was one of the things I liked the most about them & they are the most comfortable boots I have wore..isnt the denali the ones with the memory foam ?? I also highly recommend a good after market insole like Sole makes a huge difference

memory foam in the Denali's....Yes
Squeeking.....take out the laces and pull tongue out. Boot wax the area where it folds in.

Good idea. I will try it out. Thanks
