Bino Harness, I LOVE THIS ONE

I have had my eye on one of these for the last few months, Just havent pulled the trigger.

YOU'RE FAT!! DON'T TRY AND SUGAR COAT IT OR YOU WILL EAT THAT TOO!!

I am not to impressed with the design. it does not look like it protects the binos very well. easily get dirt and precip on the glass. i have no interest in paying to try it. i love the crooked horn straps and shield works great and protects well. cant fix what is not broke

Interesting thoughts Theox.
I have used the badlands, the Crooked Horn, Alaskan Guide Creations, but not the S4. I really trust Randy's opinion and know he uses Swarovskis, so I think he would only like something that really protects them.
I also really like the simpleness of the Crooked Horn set up.

I purchased the S4 this year and for the most part really like it. The only things I would say they could improve on is the fit of the harness,a loop or tab to release the shock cord that fastens the covers together and maybe a little wider on the covers.

Overall a very nice set up for 40 bucks. Would recommend one for sure.

I agree, the S4 did not offer the level of protection that I wanted for my bino's. I wanted something full coverage so I started looking at the badlands, and the Horn Hunter. I ended up going with the Horn Hunter as it is much less bulky than the badlands, and is made in the USA, not vietnam. I used it all last season, and it will protect your bino's from anything.

I like my bino's fully covered, not just the glass protected. I dont want rain, snow, or dirt on any part of my bino unless its in my hands and im glassing. also when Im walking in thick brush im not going to scratch up the body if they are fully covered.

Started using the S4's this season and have liked them so far. I haven't gotten a whole lot of field time with them but have been happy thus far.

As stated earlier, the fit could be a little better but all around it is a good product. I have vortex diamondbacks so I am not overly protective over them like someone would be with a high end pair, so the coverage doesn't bug me really.

Do your binos want to fall out of the side of the S4?

Looking at pics it doesn't look like there is much holding them from swaying side to side or falling out of the side if your leaning or going through barb wire fencing etc.

They really do not tend to fall out the side at all.
It really does hold them in place pretty well.

LAST EDITED ON Dec-14-11 AT 09:25AM (MST)[p]Bought one and returned it. I also have an AGC bino pouch and havent found anything that protects my binos and is as comfortable to wear as the AGC. I spend a lot of time on 4 wheeler and dusty roads while hunting as I am sure most people do and the S4 would allow my lenses to be covered in a layer of dust after riding.

While using the AGC pouch not a spec of dust on them. I will continue using the AGC for now.

Just wanted to add the point that the S4 is not a protective pouch or was it ever designed as being such. It is a harness system that keeps them from flopping around in the field but does offer some protection for the glass. I for one did not care for the pouch thing. Just my 2 cents.

Horn Hunter hands down. The S4 doesn't protect the exterior of the binocular, plus I love having the range finder right on my chest.

I have the S4 and I'm not impressed. With my older Swarovski they tend to fall out a lot. Also the bino pressure is still put all on your neck. Which after using crooked horns bino system for years it really does bother me. The S4 does actually do a decent job for keeping rain and snow out but not dust. Overall I wouldn't recommend the S4.
