I am considering the Surefire minimus. Every review I've read people love the light but too many people complain that the light fails too quickly for a $100 + piece of equipment.

The other light I am considering is the Princeton Tec Remix. This is about 1/3 the cost and just as light. Both produce close to the same amount of lumens. I think the PT has a better battery life.

I think I'm convincing myself to go with the PT. Hell I could buy 2 of them for less than the Surefire. I just want to get an American made light that is dependable and will last.

+1 on the PT we have several and they last forever. All the light you need. The PT is bright enough that we mostly walk the trails using the low beam setting and get about 4-5 days battery life FYI. Great Light.

i have both and you can't go wrong either way. the surefire is awesome but it will burn out quick if turned all the way up. i just keep it turned lower than full blast and it lasts for a good while, i just keep spare batteries in the pack

I have and have uaed all 3. I have never had a failure with the minimus.
I have used it in high heat and very cold. On 2 different late hunts i could not
Get the PT to work...ugh.
I think in most cases the pt will fo fine.

Black Diamond Icon 200- multiple LEDs ,up to 200 lumen output and red light....
