Lathrop & Sons-Hanwag Boots-Great Service

I purchased a pair of Hanwag Alaska GTX boots from Lathrop and Sons in 2011. I loved the boots and worked them hunting and hiking as hard as an almost 58 year old fat man could. These boots were purchased because I had been looking for a premium boot that had great ankle support and traction. My backup was a pair of Meindl Denali. I have probably owned 4 or 5 pairs of Meindls over the years and had worn them all out. Before the Hanwag boots, I had experienced fit problems with my Kenetrek Hardscrabble Hikers(two pairs)and had sold the last pair back to the maker at a loss. I loved the traction of the Kenetreks, but they just wrecked my feet.

After this hunting season, I noticed the Hanwag boots had a few minor problems that didn't involve fit, comfort or traction. I sent them back to Lathrop&Sons for some minor repairs. They looked at the boots and they sent me a new pair. I am hooked on these Hanwag boots. The traction is super. The fit and support is the best I have ever experienced. I have now found that their customer service is great.
