Eberlestock J34 review, by Santana Outdoors

hey Eric,
I like the j34, but have found it to be sloppy with heavy loads.
Do you know if ES is working on that?
Do they see any changes coming to this pack?

Thanks!
Mike

Hey Mike, thanks for checking out the review and appreciate your feedback. Sorry to hear your having an issue with the J34. I have not heard anything about Eberlestock making any changes to it. We ourselves have not had any complaints from our customers, but like I said its good to get any feedback at all like yours. Can you elaborate a little bit more about the issues specifically? Maybe we can help you out a little bit. Thanks Mike.

Hi Eric,
I love the pack, do not get me wrong..I love the guys I bought it from even more :)

I have noticed that when I really load it down, like packing out an animal. It tends to slosh side to side, and seems to sag down quite a bit.

It is almost like the bag is not tight to the suspension.

Like I said, I love the pack for 0-40 lbs.

I see, you might try and really tighten up those compression straps as much as possible on the back, keep that load from shifting, if you havent done so already. Also, above the shoulder harness you should see those two load lifter straps, try and take up slack on those and keep that load as close to your body as possible. Also try raising the chest strap in the front and tightening that as well, the lower it is the more movement it could allow. Lastly, try not to get to top heavy, keep in mind those are engineered to have the weight bearing on your hips. Give those a shot if you havent done so already and see if that makes a difference.
