anyone have any experience with this knife yet? just ordered one today. I've got an edge and was impressed with it last season. I cant imagine i'll be disappointed with it, but wouldn't mind hearing some opinions on it. thanks.

They are nice and sharp but the downside is they are not too stout. My brother was skinning a buck last yr and the blade broke. We had to take time to find the blade lest we get slashed.

you're probably talking about the piranta edge. i've got one of those too. i did bust a blade quartering my bull last year, but it was my fault. the edge is a great knife. these bolts have a thicker blade. i imagine i wont be disappointed.

i just sent my edge back a couple days ago. when i tore it apart i lost one of the little teflon washers. called them up and they said they don't sell parts. said to send it in and they'll just send a new knife plus extra blades to cover my shipping cost to send it in. told them no extras were needed, but they wouldn't have it. great customer service. they really should sell replacement parts though.

well, if anyone is wondering, the bolt is a GREAT upgrade from the edge. had to break my buck down opening morning to pack him out and the bolt did not disappoint. the blades are just as sharp. only used one blade and its still sharp as hell. even did a little prying on the front leg joints to break apart with no issues. i like the larger handle. its not a huge difference from the edge, but those with a little bigger hands will notice. I highly recommend this knife. i'm going to order some of the different blades they offer for the bolt and give them a try too. the new edge that piranta sent me will stay in the pack also, but I doubt it will see much use. it will be designated the back up.
