What happened to the website? I followed it quite abit up until about a year ago. Then everything in my life hit the fan and I didnt have the time to follow along with his reviews. Now I try to go to the website and it seems it is no more? Thanks

Just a guess, but it might have something to do with post number 51, which has been deleted, in the Sitka Gear discussion in the Hunting Gear Forum.

There have been a handful of guys that I used to follow their pictures, threads, and info on this site who no longer post. I found Hardcore to be very thorough and insitefull.

I wish people could just agree to disagree instead of be mean........

I was following that thread as it happened you could tell where it was headed.

"That's a special feeling, Lloyd"

Wade is his own worst enemy when it comes to disagreement. When I had a warranty issue with a sleeping bag he accused me of trying to get something after I had damaged a product. It seems to be one of his tactics when he has to win an argument.

The Hardcore Outdoors website was always a great resource for very useful information from hunting boots to truck tires. It's a damn shame so many folks gave Wade grief about trivial BS that I assume he probably said the hell with it!!!

For what it's worth I think it was one of the best outdoor product review websites available to the hardcore hunter. Sure wish Wade would reconsider and bring it back online!

I don't think that was his downfall. I think it had more to do with his reversal of positions on Sitka gear and messing with a big company.

While some of you disagreed with Wade, his knowledge and field research was still second to few. I appreciated his field testing and input and respected his opinion way more than most of the blowhards on here who just wanted to claim the "mine's better than yours" cuz I own it.

You know I cant blame the guy for shutting it down if what you guys are saying is the truth. I have never seen any sight with info like he provided. It really sucks hes gone.

Downfall? I wasn't aware that I had fallen down but then again an argument or contradictory position is what some of you expect from me so I don't want to disappoint. As far as having to always be right, if I knew what I was talking about, carefully considered what I was saying and believed I was correct then why wouldn't I stick to my guns and defend my position? I don't apologize for that and after all this is a forum that was built for conversation, dialogue, argument, etc. etc. Anyway...

Go Daddy discontinued and no longer supports Quick Blogcast which was the platform I used for almost seven years so the site went away because of them not me. At about the same time I started coaching high school football again so I have been on the field literally since June. With football, work, family and Hardcore Outdoor there just wasn't enough time in the day so something had to go or at least be put on hold temporarily.

The truth is though that I needed a break from Hardcore so the timing of the Go Daddy thing actually worked out. Lines were getting blurred, I was being pulled in a lot of different directions, I was losing my independence and objectivity, and my BS meter was red lining far too often. However, Football season is over for us as of last week and I have some bandwidth again so I am going to get back into it but it will be a little different this time. So hang tight for a few more weeks and check out the new site once it is up and running or you can always send me an email if you want.

Thank you but it won't be a regular thing. I just happen to come across this post in a Google search and thought I would respond.

And regarding the subject of football, it is becoming as, if not more, contentious as hunting so there is no shortage of controversy in my life.

Hey Wade,

Welcome back and I sure look forward to you getting your website back up and running. I always enjoyed reading your articles and outdoor gear reviews.

Keep up the great work!

Howdy Wade,

I've respected your insightful reviews on gear and respect your time constraints.

For a period of yers I coached Pop Warner football, and high school football during the same seasons. I also coached my daughters basketball team the following season, and ended up coaching my three children's basketball teams for eleven years. During these years much of my hunting and personal time was scarce, but looking back, well worth the commitment..

Take care and all the best!

Ed
