"Rifle Bi-Pods"

Well I give up as I have tried every way to "search" for prior questions about them, guess you need the exact wording correctly to bring it up.

My question, what do you consider the better choice for a folddown bi-pod for a rifle forend stock? Harris is one and now Caldwell has some too. My buddy has one BUT I don't remember which one. There are others but names right now I do not remember.

Anyone have suggestions and/or favorite ones they use?

Thanks guys,

Brian

We have the Harris ...well made and last forever. Ours pivot at center where they attach to the front sling mounting screw.....used in military , and hunting. You can't go wrong with Harris.

I've loved the snipods, but lately I've questioned their durability.

I have a couple of sets of Harris bi-pods, I don't like them and don't use them. They make the gun heavy and off balance(front end heavy). These have three sections and are about 25-27 inches. You can shoot prone or sitting depending on how many sections you put out. The ones I have don't swivel and that's another problem. If you are considering these you should get the one that swivel.

These are steel and fairly well made. One of the sections has a screw to tighten it but the other section wobbles a little.

I use the stoney point shooting sticks. I can pull these out of my belt and get set up on a target faster than I can with the Harris bi-pods. I use the heavier ones.

champion has one that i have been using. it also pivots and kants which is what a wanted in a bipod. BUT if you are looking to save weight i wouldnt add one to the gun as they add a lot of weight. but sure are handy to have.

i also like them because when i take a rest i can set the bipod out and set my gun down knowing its going to be solid and not slide of the branch of a tree or lay in the dirt. lots more pros than cons for me.
