Does anyone own this scope? How has it performed? What caliber gun is it on? Wondering if this is an adequate scope to top my sons .280 with. Thanks.

I hunt with the Leupold Vari-X II, I love it. I would spend the few dollars more for the Vari-X II over the Rifleman model. Just my 2 cents

I've got the VariX II on my .280 now and I love that scope. I don't really want to spend the $450 on a scope for it at this point.

They don't make the vari-x models anymore. The current models are VX 1,2, or 3.

I put a VX 1 on my grandson's rifle. I thought it was better than the Rifleman and not too much more money.

If I was looking for a good inexpensive scope I would look at the Minox demos that Cameraland has on sale in the classifieds on MM. Some of those are less than half price.

Friend of mine has a 3-9x50 rifleman on a 338 which I have had the privilege of shooting a few times. Scope is clear, nice eye relief, and gathered light well as we were shooting around sunset. Nice scope for the money.
