How does applying as group work?

I have a few family members and friends that always apply as group. My family we never applied as a group. My question is what are pros and cons of applying as group? Can you apply as group for Limited Entry and Once in a lifetime tags? Last but not least If my dad has 17 LE bull elk points and I have 2 LE bull elk points and we applied as group for Central Manti Early Elk would we have pretty good odds of both of us drawing that tag? I ask this because i am mostly curious.

Happy Trails.

All draw or none draw as a group - both good and bad. We put in separate as a family and someone should get a tag and the family can go camp and hunt each year. As a group you will hunt with everyone with a tag, but you will have years no one has a tag - can still go camp, but zero hunting. If you have 2 points and your dad has 17 points, you will go in the draw pool with 9 points - 19 total points divided by number of hunters (2) = 9.5 points and then Utah rounds down to a whole point (9). Hope this helps.

We do the same thing for the same reasons.
It keeps us hunting every year even if we don't personally have a tag.

If the O{ is talking about draw odds of the two methods, I don't have the answer on that one.

I believe that if you apply as a group you get the number of your divided bonus points into the draw. 10 numbers in the draw with your points divided and 19 numbers in the draw with your points separated.
