Surrendered Permit

I surrendered my non-resident archery bull elk tag for the Southwest Desert. Congratulations to the lucky hunter who accepts the surrendered tag. If anyone hears of who received it, I'd love to know so that I can keep in touch and see how they did.

I always wonder why someone would surrender a great tag. I did last year (first one ever) because of a couple other great tags which created a big conflict...so I understand there are good reasons.

I surrendered it because I drew 5 other tags in three states and I wouldn't be able to devote the time that the tag deserves. Not to mention all the other tags and hunts that my family and friends have. Someone else who can devote the time deserves to have it this year. On top of that, we just welcomed our first child.

Shedneck congrats on the New addition to your family!!
Guess having to many tags in a year is a good problem to have!!
Good luck to you on your upcoming hunts this year, I'm sure you just made someones day!!

My wife was the recipient of a surrendered LE elk tag last year.

I'm sure it will be much appreciated for whoever receives it.

Good luck this year and congrats to you shedneck.

I have been on both ends. I have received a surrendered elk tag. Turns out it was a friend's wife that was having a baby. I also surrendered an antelope tag last year when I injured my shoulder.

I think it is great that they allow us to surrender/receive tags.

Congrats on the new baby......and on having too many tags!
I knew there must have been a darn good reason and there were actually several.
Best of luck with the other tags!

Thank you everyone for the well wishes and kind words. And good luck this season - it's just around the corner.

The only thing worse than having no hunting tags is having more hunts than you can devote the proper time to.

Many years ago, I had two great deer tags in one year, a new baby, and little time off work.
Neither tag produced the kind of buck I was anticipating, because I couldn't spend the amount of time needed for success. Beside that, it about cost me my marriage.

Good on you shedneck. Congrats on the baby, and best of luck on the rest of your Fall.
