Flaming Gorge lakers in Sept

I'm going to be near by mid-September for an antelope hunt and I always wanted to fish for Lakers there.
Is that a decent month for fishing?

That's a great time to fish for lakers @ the Gorge. I fish white pearl tube baits with black and gold glitter. Linnwood, Antelope Flat, Swim Beach(Stateline), and Anvil Draw areas should be holding fish. Good Luck

A local could tell you better than me Wiz, but I think they locate marks down deep and jig large jigs or like a big gitzit over the top of em?

A fishfinder is necessary to find the fish. They hang around 70 to 100 ft of water. Locations already mentioned are good. You need a 3/4 ounce jig head with the jig - medium green with red and silver sparkles also works good. You need a medium stiffness pole and braided line (doesn't stretch) with about a 12 ft. 12 pound test leader (drag level is very important). The bite isn't big so you have to pat close attention.
