So my son-in-law's brother killed a fine trophy bull on the Wasatch this year and returned for the pack-out the next day to discover that they'd just ran a bear off the kill site.
The bear had ripped the chest area open and began to feed but without too much damage so they continued with the chore and never saw the bear.
My son-in-law did run head-long into a cougar and her almost grown kitten and he had to throw rocks to get them off the trail!
Watch out for the bears and cats boys!

PS: I was field dressing a cow elk under my headlamp a few year back and looked up just in time to see mamma bear and 2 cubs headed my way. They were under 30 yards when I stood up and yelled and they ran off into the dark. I felt like they were more like 3' rather than the actual 30 yards. I almost had an accident in my shorts over that deal!
